Most modern screens and devices tend to handle most of the colours that fall in the sRGB Color Space. This is a small colour space and used as a standard for the Internet. An example of a colour space that you may have come across is sRGB. There are lots of different colour spaces that an image can use. Whilst this is an extreme example that would never happen, it is common to produce colours when editing that are outside one or more of the Color Spaces. Instead of displaying Green, you would see a different colour like red or blue or a combination of the two. To take a simple example, if we had a colour space that only included Red and Blue, any photos using that colour space wouldn’t be able to display Green. The Color Space determines the range of colours in an image. Let’s start by looking at what a Color Space after which we will discuss the ICC Profile. Unfortunately, many photographers will leave this to luck. The Color Space is important because it affects what other people see.
